Today, my parents made the decision to have our Dalmatian put to sleep! She has been i ill health for a while now, so its quite a blessing...but its also like I am losing my sister and best friend! Most Dalmatians only live to be around 8 or 9 and she has lived to be 15 almost 16! We have had some of the greatest memories with her and I have some of the funniest photos to remember her....she will live on in my life forever!!! RIP SADIE!!! I LOVE YOU!!!

Cleaning House
I was going thru some images to add to my flickr account and I came across two of my favorites from this past summer! The top one is of an antique curling iron used back in the early 1800's....it caught my eye because I never thought they would of had something like this back in the old days! The sepia image isnt one of my best images as I was battling flying elbows and a wooden fence..causing me to cut off the one wheel....but I thought making it sepia would make for a nice effect! The more and more I practice with my camera...the happier i become...photography allows me to let down my hair and do something I really love to do! I hope to some day meet some fellow aol photography chat room people and learn the tricks of their trade! Ok...I was supposed to be in bed two entries ago...but I just cant stop posting my work...*sorry that was very vain*...Good Nite Friends!
Happy Easter!
I wanted to take a moment and write an entry wishing every one a most blessid Easter season! Above is a photo of an Easter Lilly that I recently purchased!!! I needed something to help keep me focused on spring and my photography! The last several days here in Western, PA have been very gray and dreary, leaving me in a depressed state..:( but soon enough it will be spring time and photo ops galore!!!! Well Its bed time....got an early wake up call tommorrow!

I've Finally Found What I am looking for!!!!
Today on my journey to Ohio to go shopping, I stumbled across a Barnes and Nobles book store...I wandered back to the books on photography and Lo and Behold, I came across the book that I have been looking for in every book store from pa to Ohio! The Nikon D50 Digital Field Guide by David D. Busch. Every one that I talked to who owned the Nikon D50 swore by this book so I broke the bank and splurged and got it! Boy, was I impressed with the little that I read on my journey back to PA...I cant wait to read it more in depth and gather the information that I have not been able to locate on websites!!!!! Ok, off to read my new book!!!!

The Most Beautiful Women In Cyberspace!
I am writing this entry to let everyone know of the most beautiful person that I have met in cyberspace! Her name is connie, I met her in aol's photography chat room about 2 yrs ago...we started chatting and she began sharing her work with me...and let me tell ya...she is the best child photographer in Texas! She captures children in their natural poses, rather than posing them olan mills style! The more I got to know her...the more inspiration I gained from her! I was telling her how my canon slr was stolen from my car, and she asked for my address...and when i asked why..she proceeded to tell me that she had a nikon n50 body that she wasnt using because she had gotten a dslr....I asked her how much she wanted for it and she said "NOTHING"...I was so mortified that a complete stranger who I have never met in person would send me something that she could of sold on ebay.....all she asked was that I use it and not keep it in the box to collect dust....and believe me once i gathered the money for a lens...that camera was never in that box again until I got my dslr (nikon d50)! I believe God puts people together as friends for a reason and I am ever thankful that he made me start talking to connie in the chat room! She is such an inspiration and a mentor to me and I will NEVER ever be able to repay her for the wonderful gift she has given me!!! Because of her and her love and wisdom, I have began my endeavors of opening my own business! if u ever read this connie..THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! YOU TRULY ARE AN ANGEL FROM HEAVEN!!!!!
Side note: On Nov, 6 2007, connie gave me the best news on my 32nd birthday...SHE BECAME A GRAMMA to the most precious lil boy...wow yet another gift from this awesome cyber friend of mine...:)

My favorite things to photograph in Pittsburgh
One of my favorite things to photograph in Pittsburgh are the animals at the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium! These beautiful creatures have given me such amazing poses that I was able to capture with my Nikon D50 and 70-300mm dg lens!
Another thing that I love to photograph in Pittsburgh are my beloved Pittsburgh Penguins! I have been a Penguins fan since the age of 3! I have been a fan thru their stanley cups winning seasons and during the numerous losing seasons and I will continue to root for them for many more years to come!

AOL Community Photo Challenge - March into Spring {Beginner}
http://journals.aol.com/mariebm56/aol-community-photo-challenge/entries/2008/02/29/aol-community-photo-challenge---march-into-spring-beginner/637
Well I have just entered my first aol community challenge and I am very nervous because the images I am up against are simply breath taking but I wont know how my work will be percieved if I dont enter..so heres to some good luck and good luck to my opponents!!!!
Getting Started with my online journal
I was talking to some people who have online photo journals and they all told me that I should give it a try...so here goes nothing!! This photo was taken from my side yard after our 6-8 inches fell on Friday night! Any one who is familiar with Western, Pa, will know the ever so famous ground hog who predicted 6 more weeks of this wonderful stuf! Today, its gonna be a heat wave..40 degrees..lol!!! Ok, I think I am gonna go take some more images before work at 11!! Have a great Sunday!!!
I found one more wintery photo that I took that I find very neat....this was taken from my back door to my home! These were hanging from my awning! Someone told me that they looked like a musical instrument and the more I look at them...the more they do look a lot like a musical instrument!
