Introducing "Jake" aka "Herbie the love Pug"

I know it's been eons since I last updated this blog. I have a broken camera that I am waiting to get fixed. So, I have gone thru some older images to post here!!! I wanna take a minute and introduce you all to "jake" my 19 month old pug. His nick name is "Herbie the love pug" because he is the most loving dog! About a month ago, he got out and was hit with a car and it never even phased him! I think it hurt me more than it did him...lol! He NEVER quit loving me even after his accident! I use him a lot as my photography guinea pig....he doesn't quite know what to think of the camera so I have to use "pugarazzi" techniques to capture my adorable images of him...lol!!!! The black and white image below is one of my favorite images of him! I have a lot to learn about photographing a puppy with bulging eyes like a pug!!! Well I havent been feeling all that great so I will end my little story about my favorite little dog right here!!!! GOOD NITE!

Thinking Spring

Tonight I was going threw some photo cds and I came across a cd of some images that I took during the Spring of 2007~~~ I was practicing some macro shots and these were 2 of the best ones that I could find! I am not sure what kind of flowers these are..I do believe they are Rodadendrums (sp) but purple is my fav color so practicing on these flowers was a must!

I am suffering from major cabin fever and I am anxiously awaiting the beautiful weather so that I can get out and work on my photography!!!!! I am off to have some supper and relax!!!! ~goodnight~

RIP Sadie.....July 1992-March 2008

Today, my parents made the decision to have our Dalmatian put to sleep! She has been i ill health for a while now, so its quite a blessing...but its also like I am losing my sister and best friend! Most Dalmatians only live to be around 8 or 9 and she has lived to be 15 almost 16! We have had some of the greatest memories with her and I have some of the funniest photos to remember her....she will live on in my life forever!!! RIP SADIE!!! I LOVE YOU!!!

Cold Weather....Makes for Good Practice

Since today was very cold and windy, I didnt wanna take my camera and lens out and ruin them! I decided to go on a scavenger hunt of my house for things to take photographs of! I found this lil shrek happy meal toy so I had to take a cute photo of it!!! I took a few more images that I will have to load and post on here! Moral to this entry is: "When life throws you lemons....make lemonade"....Im off to go watch my beloved nhl hockey team!!! GO PENGUINS!!!!

I finally did it!!!

I finally broke down and bought a Nikkor 50mm 1.8 lens and a Tiffen 52 mm uv protector filter!  I battled  back and forth between Ritz Camera and B*H and B*H won...they have some of the BEST customer service clerks that I have ever dealt with so I thought why not...:) It should arrive on Friday and I promise to post my first shots with it!!!!

Cleaning House

I was going thru some images to add to my flickr account and I came across two of my favorites from this past summer! The top one is of an antique curling iron used back in the early 1800's....it caught my eye because I never thought they would of had something like this back in the old days! The sepia image isnt one of my best images as I was battling flying elbows and a wooden fence..causing me to cut off the one wheel....but I thought making it sepia would make for a nice effect! The more and more I practice with my camera...the happier i become...photography allows me to let down my hair and do something I really love to do! I hope to some day meet some fellow aol photography chat room people and learn the tricks of their trade! Ok...I was supposed to be in bed two entries ago...but I just cant stop posting my work...*sorry that was very vain*...Good Nite Friends!

Happy Easter!

I wanted to take a moment and write an entry wishing every one a most blessid Easter season! I know ya'll are saying...Easter is a week away but with my work schedule...i just wanted to be a head of the game for once in my life...lol!!! Above is a photo of an Easter Lilly that I recently purchased!!! I needed something to help keep me focused on spring and my photography!  The last several days here in Western, PA have been very gray and dreary, leaving me in a depressed state..:( but soon enough it will be spring time and photo ops galore!!!! Well Its bed time....got an early wake up call tommorrow!
